Juniors Rd 1

TKP Juniors vs Henry Park Pri 19-8

Both teams started tentatively and it was a while before the first team scored - Henry Park. TKP Juniors made their coach, Mr Njoo raging with anger as they kept on making those niggling mistakes - ball dropping, bad passes, bad decision making. Definitely not the team I remembered during the holidays when they could even defeat Fengshan Pri. All of them were not in the game and I was able to tell the lack of practices they had. Well, obviously the LOA that the 4 girls served really did take a toll on them as they fumbled the ball easily.

1st Quarter 4-2 (just mange to beat them)
2nd Quarter 4-3 (players are making huge number of mistakes most notably Debby, our GS)
3rd Quarter 7-1 (finally managed to get into the game playing the way we were supposed to)
4th Quarter 4-2 (Again, not the best of quarter, but the girls managed to scrap a victory)

Overall, the Juniors will not go far if they continue to display this sort of performance especially during crucial games where key players cracked due to pressure. The Juniors must have the mental toughness and tenacity to overcome their fear. Mr Njoo was telling me how he saw one of the juniors in the morning and she looked so pale and scared. A word of wisdom to the Juniors...PLease overcome your fear..to be honest, we are TKP...usually it is the other way round, our opponents will be nervous to play against us. So...juniors...do us proud and play the way TKP used to play netball - Stylish, Speedy and Sensational!
